Slim Desk

Designed to meet the challenges of today’s home or office work environment, the Slim Desk provides convenient storage and technology access in a unique and attractive design. A built-in power supply, USB dock, and data ports—including speaker and microphone—are conveniently positioned within the user’s reach. A pair of sliding panels keep technology access out of sight and out of the way, and also provide storage space below the work surface. Notebook computers up to 17” are easily stowed in this area.

The Slim Desk offers added ergonomic function and space savings through its integration with Humanscale’s Access Rail. Compatible with slatwall-mount products by a wide range of manufacturers, the Access Rail provides a convenient mounting surface to which desktop tools may be attached in easy-to-reach positions while keeping valuable desktop space clear for other tasks. Monitors, task lights, printers and faxes, telephones, and paper management devices are easily mounted to the Access Rail to enhance ergonomic comfort.

To maintain order and enhance the Slim Desk’s streamlined aesthetic, convenient cable management is hidden within a leg of the desk. Additionally, keyboard supports and CPU holders can easily mount to the Slim Desk’s underside.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the Slim Desk is constructed of aluminum extrusions, molded plywood and steel. The Slim Desk is 99% recyclable and designed for quick disassembly.

Bend the Beats to Stop the Flow of the Beats

The best (and worst) thing about a garden hose is that kink that stops the flow. I love that kink. And so does the crew that’s whipped up the “Music Flow.” MP3s that spew forth from a faucet with matching earbuds and controls. Flow on!
Music flows from the line, As water flows from the hose.
The supply of water stops whether the hose are pressed. If pressure is applied by hand to the earphone line as capacitance technology, the music temporarily stops. And when you relinquish your hold of the earphone line, the music starts again. The product looks like faucet, hose and volume control invested with a new and fun interface function relieves [the] soullessness of the digital product.
The Tap holds the tracks and acts as a speaker when the earphones are in their cradle. The Remote Control “looks like waves” and is separate from the tap and the knob. The Knob, like the Tap, sticks to whatever you like, like a window for example, and controls the volume.
Turn on the water, Turn on the Sound.
Not water-resistant!

Close the Blinds and Turn Your Love Light On

You might not be a romantic at heart or even that great at planning a memorable dinner party. Regardless, it is well known that the ambience of your surroundings can make or break that memorable moment-Some nice mellow tunes, great friends and most importantly lighting. Unfortunately lighting requires electricity which means a high electricity bill. The result is a need for a change in our thinking and adopting a more economical way of using light for our environment. Imagine if you will, closing the blinds and immediately having the perfect lighting effect that you are trying to achieve.

The Solar vertical lamp can give us that and so much more. With the blinds closed during the day blocking the rays of the hot sun, little solar pads are being charged on the back of the blinds and once the sun goes down, your mood lighting shines. The Solar Vertical Lamp is created by Korean designers Yoon-Hui Kim and Eun-Kyung Kim and available in a floor/table lamp or a stylish chandelier. Add one to each window in your home and at night, you have a beautifully lit home and a much lower electrical bill. Frugality and environmental friendliness at its best.

ThinkPad USB Portable Secure hard drive

This anonymous, yet nefarious looking device -- Lenovo's ThinkPad USB Portable Secure Hard Drive -- has a passcode system that uses a physical keypad (see photo), which should be handy for you always on-the-go, James Bond types. In fact, the tiny unit (3 x 5-inches), which is designed to pair up with ThinkPad laptops, can have up to 10 unique user IDs, and an admin account, enabling the whole family to be in on the encrypting-action. We hear the "Vault" (as they like to call it) will be available by month's end, and that the 160GB model will be $180, while the 320GB will run $219. All we need to do now is find some data worth protecting...
